“With all the spotlight on my latest opponent, I will be the first to say that he is the fastest, strongest and most explosive man I have ever faced. I waited for him to get tired in the third round, at the altitude and extreme weight cut, and it didn't happen”, wrote the veteran.
Sanchez then made a point of stating that he was proud to resist for almost three rounds against an opponent of such quality.
“Until the illegal knee to the head, I didn’t have a scratch, bump or cut. Everything was controlled, blocked and routed to protect the head trauma. We received a lot of hate after the fight”, he concluded.
In the confrontation between Michel and Diego, the Brazilian had already shown part of his arsenal and dominated the confrontation until the blow that confirmed the disqualification. The result was heavily criticized due to the fact that Sanchez did not accept to return to the confrontation after the stoppage, making use of the rule. With that, the North American won the duel.
