Jones's attack on the superfight against Miocic increased after the champion made public his disinterest in exchanging forces against Francis, current number one in the rankings. According to Stipe, the fact that he already beat Ngannou in 2018, and in a dominant way, makes the confrontation unnecessary.

Upon realizing the champion's declaration, 'Bones' wasted no time and used his popularity to try to gain a place in the title match. The North American recently relinquished the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg) and made his move to heavyweight official.

Even with Jones' insistence, the advantage remains with Ngannou. In a press conference after the last episode of 'Dana White's Contender Series', held last Tuesday (1), the UFC president once again confirmed the French-Cameroonian as Miocic's opponent. The dispute, however, has no confirmed date.
