The two consecutive defeats in the last appearances do not seem to have shaken the determination of Michael Pereira. The Brazilian has a commitment against Zelim Imadaev on the 5th, at UFC Las Vegas 9, in the United States, and guarantees total focus for a great performance against the Russian.

“I didn’t study him (Imadaev) much. I know he's a striker (stand-up). I train to face any type of opponent. I've been preparing since April. My weight is great, my training sessions have been amazing too. I'm focused. Without a doubt, it will be a new show, as always. It has everything to be the 'Fight of the Night'. Although he lost in his last fights, Pereira believes he has what it takes to dream big in the category led by Kamaru Usman. Known for his plastic movements and strikes, the Brazilian understands that his bold technique could soon take him to the top of the division.
“I'm in the welterweight division (under 77kg) to be the champion. Everyone knows that I have the tools to achieve this. I'm tough, I have resistance, I put on shows. I have everything I need. It’s the result of my hard work”, he concluded.
Michel hasn't fought since his controversial fight against the veteran Diego Sanchez, in February this year. On that occasion, the man from Pará ended up losing by disqualification, in the third round, after throwing an illegal knee at his opponent, who refused to return to the fight. Before the incident, the Brazilian unquestionably dominated the North American.
