“I believe I can submit him in the first round again. I'm going to finish it quickly, because I'm very confident. When I'm trained and my mind is 'ok', I do it. This is my life. I love fighting. I respect above all, but I think I would defeat him in the first round again”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Even with all his confidence, Werdum does not underestimate his potential opponent. The gaucho knows that, if the match is confirmed, he will face one of the greatest representatives in the history of the sport and that is not something that can be ignored.

“I have respected Fedor for a long time. I never said anything bad about him in my life. I believe that a rematch with him is significant for the sport. When I beat him, in 2010, I shocked the world and maybe I will again”, said Fabrício, before adding: “He said he wanted a rematch and I liked the idea. He never provoked me. In my opinion, he is the best in the world”, he concluded.

Although he flirts with the chance to face Emelianenko, Werdum recently stated that he also welcomes the possibility of joining ONE FC's body of athletes. According to the Brazilian, the opportunity to win the heavyweight belt, which currently belongs to Brandon Vera (defeated by the Gaucho in 2008), could influence the decision.
