UFC president Dana White caused controversy when analyzing the possible return of boxing icon Oscar de La Hoya to the ring. In a press conference given after the completion of the UFC Las Vegas 7, which took place last Saturday (22), the Ultimate 'boss' rekindled an old rivalry and mocked the former world champion's decision to return to the ring, based on the boxer's history of drug use to comment on the situation.

“Cocaine is not cheap, it is expensive. You have to have money,” said White when asked about the legendary former champion’s decision.

Despite having a brilliant career inside the ring, boasting world titles in six different weight divisions, de La Hoya also drew attention for his life outside the sport. In the past, Oscar made his drug addiction public, which hampered his career in professional boxing.

Recently, the 47-year-old legendary fighter informed 'ESPN' that he intends to follow in the footsteps of Mike Tyson and resume his career, which ended in 2008.

“The rumors are true. I will start training in the next few weeks. (…) I miss being in the ring. I love fighting. Boxing gave me everything I have today and I just miss it”, said the boxer at the time.

Olympic champion at the Barcelona games in 1992, Oscar has not played since December 2008, when he was defeated by Manny Pacquiao. In his professional record, the fighter has 45 appearances, with 39 wins and six losses.
