Changing the date of the confrontation between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. did not please his ‘Iron Man’ rival. After the duel was changed, which would have taken place on September 12th, to November 28th, Jones made his indignation public and threatened to leave the confrontation if he was not financially rewarded.

“I had to cancel other things to be there. This changed my schedule. That's the main problem. I'm no longer a full-time boxer, so I do other things to make money. If I can't do other things, then I should be compensated for that, because that changes the schemas. It's unacceptable. We're trying to think of something. My lawyers are talking to their lawyers, trying to figure out a way to make the situation better so that I can be compensated for this, that is more beneficial to me. If they don’t make it make sense, the fight is cancelled,” explained Jones Jr., in an interview with the ‘Daily Mail’.

When the super fight was officially postponed, the promoters stated that, with the new date, it would be possible to profit more from pay-per-view sales, as well as more time to promote the fight. The clash between the two has everything to become one of the most watched shows of the year, as it will bring one of boxing's greatest legends back to the ring, who hasn't performed since 2005.

The challenge between Tyson and Roy will be broadcast on the digital platform ‘Triller’. The proposal is to hold an eight-round exhibition fight, seeking to preserve as much as possible the physical integrity of the two combatants, who are over 50 years old.
