In the meeting between the combatants, the duel was heading towards the end of the first round until Stoltzfus managed the takedown that resulted in the injury. Immediately, after assessing his opponent's condition, Dustin showed solidarity and even hugged Joe, who responded well to his rival's gesture.
Due to the incident, Pyfer was unable to continue the fight and Stoltzfus was declared the winner by technical knockout in the first round. With the victory, he ended up winning one of the vacancies and will sign his professional contract with UFC.
With five fights last Tuesday, Dana White, who attended the event held at UFC headquarters in Las Vegas, signed all of the night's winners. In addition to Dustin Stoltzfus, the new names in Ultimate are: Impa Kasanganay, TJ Laramie, Cory Mckenna e Adrian Yanez
