Anderson says he agreed to fight at UFC Rio 3 for the fans: “It’s not enough to be an autograph hero”

Anderson Silva announced that he was on vacation until the end of this year, but with injuries to José Aldo e Quinton Rampage Jackson, the middleweight champion offered to “save” the UFC Rio 3 card and be the biggest star of the event that takes place on October 13th, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The “Spider”, who faces the North American Stephan bonnar in the light heavyweight division, he revealed that the main reason for accepting the fight with just 30 days of preparation is the Brazilian public.

“The reason I decided to accept this fight was to repay the affection I received from the Brazilians in my last fight. It was supposed to be in Brazil, but for technical reasons it ended up being in Las Vegas. Even so, I felt that the Brazilian people were with me, those who went to watch and those who stayed here. Brazil stopped at 2 am. In these circumstances, with the injury to the José Aldo, I didn't want another event in Brazil to be harmed. That’s why I decided to accept it,” said Anderson.

“Visibly excited about the chance to step back into the octagon in front of his fans, Anderson, who won Yushin Okami, at UFC Rio 1, spoke about the emotion of having an idol for many Brazilians.

PUBLICITY:

“It’s not enough to be an autograph hero, but to be a Brazilian who understands the responsibility of giving back to the fans. Mission given is mission accomplished”, concluded Spider.
