“It’s probably one of the toughest fights I’ve ever had. It was mentally stressful, a game of chess. We attack to knock out. I think I hit him more than he hit me, hard. I think it was two for two before the fifth round. It was very balanced. I feel like I won, I feel like we both won”, said the fighter at a press conference after the show.

Darren revealed that a possible injury may have hampered his performance during the clash. According to the Englishman, a knee problem prevented some movements from being performed during the match.

“I'm not the kind of guy who makes excuses. I'll give credit to Robert in the second round. He attacked my knee, like I did with Stephen Thompson (in 2018). That should be illegal (laughs). This blows out my knee. I’m not going to complain, but it hindered the fight a little,” she said.
