“We fought at the beginning of our career, in the middle and at the end. I have a lot of affection for Rogério and Rodrigo (Minotauro). They are two people that I greatly admire as people and fighters. Everyone likes them. If you ask me who Rogério was, I will say that he was a great legend and an example to be followed”, said the fighter.
Seeing one of the greatest opponents of his victorious career withdrawing from MMA, Shogun, 38, was asked if he had plans for when he would hang up his gloves. The Curitiba native, however, stated that he is not thinking about that at the moment.
“I want one or two more fights. Yesterday, I wanted two or three. I think two more fights and I'll retire. I'm going back to Brazil. I’m not thinking about fighting now”, said the Curitiba native before suggesting a possible opponent.
“I would like a fight (against Paul Craig). That and one more,” she concluded.
Shogun and Craig faced each other in November last year in one of the most anticipated fights in the world UFC Sao Paulo. On that occasion, Maurício promoted a balanced fight against the Scotsman that ended in a draw between the light heavyweights (under 93kg).
