Fighter debuts in MMA at age 61 and is submitted

“MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world.” This phrase is constantly said by UFC president, Dana White, in his interviews. And the sport seems to gain new fans and practitioners around the world every day, regardless of the gender and age of the participants. The biggest proof of this is that Sue Hemenway decided to venture into MMA at 61 years old.

The young American lady fought last weekend at the Michigan Battle League, but her adventure in MMA was short-lived. In 31 seconds, she was taken down by Shelly Hartwell, an athlete 20 years younger, and saw her opponent enter an arm-bar, forcing her to give up the fight.
