Ultimate's president, Dana White, denied reports that the long-awaited fight between Paulo borrachinha e Israel adesanya is confirmed for the UFC 253, on September 19th. In a press conference held after last Saturday's event (18), the 'big boss' stated that the contracts have not yet been signed and the title fight is still under negotiation.

"Is not true. I believe the two did not sign the contract. It's not closed. They were instructed not to comment. (…) If the fight was confirmed, we would be promoting it at today’s event”, stated the agent.
Even with Dana's denial, the idea that the confrontation is being negotiated for the scheduled date gained more strength after Borrachinha published, on his Twitter account, the news that the confrontation should take place in September.
“The fight is confirmed, guys. In September, I will give a show”, wrote Paulo.

As these are two high-level athletes who are undefeated in their MMA careers, the meeting between the middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) and the Brazilian generates a lot of expectation among fans of the sport. The rivalry between the two is also an important factor in one of the biggest clashes in recent years.
