Defeated by Deiveson Figueiredo in February, Joseph Benavidez will have the chance to return the result this Saturday (18), when he promotes a rematch against the Brazilian in UFC Fight Island 2. Ready for the reunion, the North American revealed discomfort with the statements made by the man from Pará, who has been stating that he will win again by knockout. In an interview with ‘MMA Fighting’, Benavidez spoke about the extra motivations for trying to beat the ‘God of War’.

“They really bother (Deiveson’s statements). Just the fact that he's the villain to everyone, I guess. I do not like him. This is rare for me. It's not personal because I don't know him, I don't know about his personality or anything. I definitely don’t like him,” declared Jospeh.

With a rare feeling, as Benavidez himself said, the American seeks to transform thoughts into motivation for a great performance this weekend. The athlete is looking to recover from the knockout suffered in their first meeting, in which the Brazilian won, but was unable to take the belt because he failed to make the weight cut the day before the fight.

“It makes you want to go out there and hurt someone. You hurt to win an MMA fight. That's what you have to do. I want to shut him up”, he concluded.
