“I would like to face Georges St.Pierre. Right now we're tied for the record for most consecutive welterweight wins and he's a tough guy, a legend. He is a person who marked his time and is considered one of the best at what he does,” said Kamaru.

Even though he is not officially retired, the Canadian has not stepped into the Octagon since 2017, when he returned to the UFC after a four-year hiatus in his career, to challenge the then middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg), in the title fight. Usman, however, showed respect to the legend and stated that the time out would not be a problem for St.Pierre.

“Georges can still fight. He proved that two years ago when he came back. He's capable of coming back and being that opponent that people want and I'm looking for. That's what champions are made of. If Georges wants it, he can do it,” said the Nigerian.

Former welterweight and middleweight champion, Georges, last year, confirmed his interest in returning to MMA for a superfight against Khabib Nurmagomedov. The negotiations, however, did not progress and the confrontation ended up being shelved.

Currently, St.Pierre is 39 years old. The athlete today has 26 wins and two losses in his career as a professional in mixed martial arts.
