Augusto Sakai and Alistair Overeem main event fight in September

Brazilian promise in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg) of the UFC, Augusto Sakai is close to his biggest challenge since his debut in Ultimate. The athlete will face the legendary alistair overeem in the main fight of the card that takes place on September 5th, which does not yet have a defined location. The information was released by 'Combate'.

Looking to get closer to the top 5, Sakai, who currently occupies 9th place in the category's ranking, will try to reach the mark of five consecutive victories with UFC gloves and maintain his unbeaten record playing for the organization.

Number seven in the group led by Stipe Miocic, Alistair, who has already confirmed that he is close to retirement, needs to win if he wants to fulfill his dream of returning to compete for the category title and show off the belt before hanging up his gloves.

Both the Brazilian and the Dutchman are coming off victories in their careers. Sakai last performed in May of this year, when he defeated Blagoy Ivanov by points.

After being brutally defeated by Jairzinho Rozenstruik, in December last year, Overeem managed to recover in his next clash. The athlete went up to the octagon to face Walt Harris and defeated the North American by knockout in the second round.
