Caldeirão faces Phil Davis and closes UFC Rio 3 card

Ultimate announced this weekend the last fight on the UFC Rio 3 card, an event that takes place on October 13th, at the HSBC Arena, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The fight between the Brazilian Wagner Caldeirão and the North American Phil Davis completes the show's fight program.

With the output of Vitor belfort of UFC Rio 3 to face Jon Jones for the light heavyweight belt (remember here), Alan belcher he was left without an opponent at the event, but the North American used his Twitter account to reveal that he was injured and would not be able to fight. As a result, the fight between Caldeirão and Davis was scheduled for the card.

Caldeirão and Davis even faced each other at UFC on FOX 4, on the 4th, but after the attempted punch, the American hit Wagner with his finger in the eye. As the Brazilian was unable to continue the fight, the fight ended in No Contest (fight without result).
