Representative of the Brazilian squad in the UFC 251, held this Saturday (11), in Abu Dhabi, Elizeu Capoeira was defeated by muslim salikhov in one of the busiest clashes on the preliminary card. In a fight marked by frank striking, the man from Paraná had good moments, but ended up losing in a split decision from the judges.

Capoeira was the fifth Brazilian to climb into the octagon set up on 'Ilha da Luta'. The athlete was coming off a victory over Alexey Kunchenko and was trying for a second positive result to continue on his way to the top of the welterweight division (under 77kg).
The confrontation was fought standing up for almost 15 minutes and with an exchange of dangerous blows. In the end, Salikhov was declared the winner and reached the mark of four consecutive UFC victories.
The fight
The Brazilian took the initiative in the confrontation with a low kick. Salikhov responded with a right to Capoeira's face. The athletes saved their punches and studied themselves in the center of the octagon. Muslim scared Elizeu with a low kick, which knocked the man from Paraná off balance. The duel remained balanced with the combatants exchanging punches and kicks. In the final seconds, Capoeira landed a good right on the Russian, who felt it and tried to take down the Brazilian. Elizeu continued to press, but the timer reached zero.
In the second round, Capoeira surprised the Russian again with a series of punches, but Salikhov responded in kind. Halfway through the round, Elizeu hit his opponent with a cross and Muslim grabbed the Brazilian to recover. The duel was tense and the welterweights tried to score a knockout at all costs. In the final seconds, the athletes tried to score with jabs and kicks, but there was no more time.
The last round started with the Brazilian betting on low kicks. Capoeira changed bases to try to confuse the opponent and induce the rival to make a mistake. Muslim tried to surprise the Brazilian with a round kick, but the blow stopped in Elizeu's guard. Salikhov and Capoeira continued to attack each other at close range and presented danger in their attacks. Towards the end of the confrontation, the man from Paraná connected a good combination of punches and continued moving to try to avoid the counterattack. The athletes studied each other in the final seconds until the end of the fight was announced.

In a fight marked by illegal strikes from Roman Bogatov, Leo Santos He managed to overcome adversity and beat the Russian with a unanimous decision from the judges. The Brazilian made his experience count to add another positive result and remain undefeated in Ultimate.
Santos started the match acting confidently, scoring according to his possibilities. In the second round, the Rio native came close to knocking out his opponent after a sequence of punches and knees.
The fight was interrupted on three occasions after illegal blows thrown by the Russian. On two occasions, Bogatov landed kicks to Léo's genital region and, on the last occasion, a knee to the head of the Brazilian who was kneeling. The action is not allowed and resulted in a loss of two points for Roman.
With the triumph, Santos now has 18 victories in his professional MMA career. In Ultimate, the Rio native has eight appearances, with seven wins and one draw.

This was Raulian's fourth appearance since his Ultimate debut. After losing in the first two, the athlete now has two positive results in a row and continues his journey towards the top of the flyweight division.
