Diaz's publication bothered the Niteroi native, who responded accordingly.

“I can win Nate diaz any day of the week, even with corona (virus), I believe I would defeat it. I can box him, I can use grappling, I can slap him easily. The guy arrives and says: 'I'm a real fighter'. I used to respect these guys so much, but guess what: I'm also a real fighter. You faced Conor (McGregor) with just a few days to spare. I faced an undefeated Russian (Alexey Kunchenko) a few days in advance”, said Gilbert in a conversation with 'ESPN'.

Aware of the great phase he is going through, the Brazilian is aware that it was not easy to reach number one in the welterweight rankings. Therefore, the Brazilian stated that Nate's statement angered him.

“It bothers me a little, because I'm also a real fighter”, he concluded.

With impressive victories, the athlete beat, in his last commitment, in May, the former champion of the category, Tyron woodley, taking first place in the North American ranking.
