Jon Jones defends the UFC light heavyweight belt against Dan Hendeson at UFC 151, on September 1st. If he manages to retain the title against Hendo, the champion will have to face the Brazilian Lyoto Machida, who won the right to a rematch by knocking out Ryan bader at UFC on FOX 4.

However, the youngest champion in the organization's history is already considering the possibility of changing categories and moving to heavyweight. Jones says that, initially, he is thinking about changing divisions in the medium term, however, he does not rule out switching next year.

“I've thought about this a lot, but today my head is focused only on the fight against Dan Henderson. I know it sounds like a cliché to say this, but it's the truth. I can only say that I still have many years ahead of me in the fighting world, and becoming a heavyweight is something I intend to accomplish in two or three years. But if it happened in 2013 or 2014, it would be really cool.” said Jones in an interview with the North American channel Fuel tv
