What should be a tragic memory for Jairzinho Rozenstruik, ended up representing a new beginning. After suffering his first career defeat after being beaten by Francis Ngannou, on May 9, the Surinamese will try to rise against junior gypsy, on August 15, at UFC 252. Rozenstruik, however, does not hide his desire to promote a new fight against the French-Cameroonian, to whom he wished luck in his future fight for the heavyweight title.

“It was a great chance. We knew it was a big fight, a challenge. It didn't happen the way I wanted, but my dream is still alive. I hope he (Francis) becomes champion. If you offered me to face him tomorrow, I would do it again. I trained myself to face him. It's just business. I wish him luck and hope to see him there”, said the Surinamese in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.
Despite regretting the first negative result in his professional MMA career, Jairzinho showed his feet on the ground to analyze the moment and understand that he needed to improve. For him, there is nothing more important to a fighter than staying active in his sport.
“We didn’t actually get to fight. That happens. Of course, a defeat is never good. Is not cool. It sucks. Now, I'm back in the gym, training hard and we're going to try again. Let’s go back to the octagon, which is what I want most”, he concluded.
Last month, Rozenstruik made a commitment to face an old acquaintance of Brazilian fans. junior gypsy will be responsible for trying to achieve the second setback in a row in the Surinamese's career. Although he is known worldwide as a big name in the history of the UFC, the Brazilian also needs the victory to recover from two negative results in a row.
Without winning for over a year, the Santa Catarina native comes from defeats to Ngannou himself (in June 2019) and Curtis blaydes (in January this year).
