After losing the rematch to Ben henderson at UFC 150, an event held last Saturday (11), the North American Frankie Edgar could leave the lightweight category and move to the featherweight division, where he would be a strong candidate to challenge the Brazilian José Aldo for the category belt.
In an interview with Sherdog radio, Edgar stated that he will make the decision in the coming days, but the possibility of a possible duel against Aldo is an additional stimulus for the exchange.
“I'm going to give myself a week to kind of let the emotions go, relax and enjoy my family. And then I'll probably sit down on Sunday with my team and discuss some ideas. Featherweight is a possibility,” said Edgar.
“At lightweight I had a lot of success and I would love to have a chance to fight for the belt again. Who knows? The featherweight belt definitely has prestige, especially with José Aldo owner of it. But I have to discuss this with my team and my family and make the right choice for me”, added the fighter.
