“The protocol is to test immediately and, as I had already felt pain in my body, I tested myself and was isolated in the room, I did not go to train with my athlete. I thought I was sore from training on Tuesday, which was hard. The test was at noon, when it was eight o'clock at night, the UFC people told me that it was positive. The first thing they asked was whether there had been contact with the Luis Peña. There wasn't, so it was good because the kid fought. They gave me the option of renting a car for myself, and driving home (to Florida). I didn't want to because of my family. I asked everyone at home to take the tests, they all came back negative”, said Marcos.

Parrumpinha revealed that he will be isolated in Las Vegas until the end of the quarantine, but he is already thinking about the future. The coach is already thinking about his athletes' upcoming commitments in the UFC 251, on July 15th, and at UFC Ilha da Luta, on the 18th, both in Abu Dhabi

“I will be in Vegas for two weeks, starting from the 25th, which was when I tested. As soon as the quarantine is over, I'll take a test. If it's negative and I'm authorized by the UFC doctor, I'll go to Abu Dhabi, for the UFC fight. Amanda ribas and (Alexandre) Pantoja”, he added.

no symptoms

Despite the scare with the diagnosis of COVID-19, Parrumpinha revealed that he is not experiencing any serious symptoms of the disease. However, he says that the biggest difficulty he has is staying in isolation.

PUBLICITY:

“The only thing I feel is my throat, which is scratchy. I had a pain in my body and a headache for a day. I didn't have a fever, nausea, or shortness of breath. Nothing, nothing. I have a slight cough and a scratchy throat. I'm in the same hotel, the UFC supports me. I made a list of everyone who had contact with me at ATT, like Thiago Moses, Edson Barboza, Pantoja…. all tested negative. I did as much as possible to preserve the people at the academy. The hardest thing is being isolated. I want to get well soon, to test negative and do my job. The uncertainty of what will happen is the most annoying thing,” she concluded.
