Confrontation against Muslim

“It’s very difficult to find a right ending (to the fight). He (Salikhov) is a born changer. I think this fight has everything going for it. He's a guy who moves well, plays a game within his standards very well. I'm going with everything ready, from the standing part, to the grappling and clinch as accurate as possible. There’s no way to say how it will end, but it will probably be a frenetic exchange,” said Elizeu.

Evolution as an athlete

With 28 presentations since becoming a professional in MMA, Capoeira, with each fight, shows evolution in his game. Even with a defeat last year, which interrupted a sequence of seven positive results in a row, the Brazilian remains one of the country's promises in the category dominated by Kamaru Usman. Thinking about improving more and more, the man from Paraná explains the actions to incorporate his qualities more and more.

“I think what evolves is the base, seeking to improve the base and it gives consistency to other things. It's more about training the simple and well-trained, from boxing, muay thai, capoeira itself, karate, jiu-jitsu, submission... it's about training the basic part so that it can evolve. Without a base, you can’t continue,” explained the welterweight.

Renewed contract

At 33 years old, in addition to celebrating his presence on one of the most important cards of 2020, the Brazilian has a new contract with the organization. After 10 presentations, the athlete now had his contract renewed for four more commitments.

PUBLICITY:

“I'm very happy. We managed to renew and be fighting on 'Ilha da Luta', it couldn't be more rewarding than that”, she concluded.

Currently, Capoeira has 22 wins and six losses in mixed martial arts. His July opponent, Salikhov, has 16 triumphs and two setbacks.
