The fighter José Aldo promises to give his blood to defend Brazil against Argentina, but this time, the battle will not be in the octagon. This Sunday (31), the former UFC champion will exchange his fighting gloves for the control of a video game, in a FIFA dispute, which will bring together teams of athletes and celebrities in the “Jogando em Casa” project, an event that will raise funds for the combating coronavirus through the Mães da Favela action, maintained by CUFA (Central Única das Favelas). The ball rolls at the traditional Brazilian football time, starting at 16pm (Brasília time).

Organized by KOEL (Kick-off Electronic League), the largest Independent Virtual Football League in the world, the “Jogando em Casa” project will be broadcast on DAZN and the KOEL channel in Twich. Brazil and Argentina had teams called up by ambassadors Zé Roberto and D'Alessandro.
There will be 11 guests playing simultaneously on each side, with a lot of relaxation, but without forgetting the historical rivalry in sport maintained between the two countries. The confrontation will be a round-trip duel in FIFA Pro Clubs mode, where each athlete will command their own player in the most popular football game in the world.
Besides José Aldo, other confirmed names are: Matheus Henrique, from Grêmio, Victor Cuesta and Sarrafiore, from Internacional, Olivinha, basketball player from Flamengo, and former Big Brother Brasil participant, Felipe Prior, as well as professional eSports athletes, such as Wendell Lira. The halftime show is performed by the band Atitude 67.
“Playing at home will be a great party. We play with rivalry and of course I want to win, but the most important thing is to bring a little entertainment to those at home and help the people in the favela. You can watch it because it will be fun. You will see a José Aldo different, but always very competitive”, concluded the UFC legend.
Amounts raised from sponsorships and donations when playing at home will be allocated to the Mães da Favela project, maintained by CUFA. During the Coronavirus pandemic, Mães da Favela has already impacted 2,5 million people, in 5 favelas in Brazil, who, through donations, had access to 8 tons of food, worth more than 81 million real.
“It is very important to have the trust of great athletes like Zé Roberto and D'Alessandro. It is recognition of the incessant work to reduce the difficulties of the people of favelas and outskirts, in this global crisis”, said Welington Galdino, social director of CUFA.
