the news that Colby covington is officially disconnected from American Top Team (ATT) took a lot of people by surprise. After the academy excluded the athlete's name from its group of athletes, the former challenger for the welterweight belt (under 77kg) confirmed the news. One of the biggest names on the team, Jorge masvidal, exposed important points for the North American's separation, even stating that his former friend was like a 'cancer' in the group.

“I really love this place (ATT). So I don't want to see that kind of animosity, even if he wasn't saying anything about me. What kind of partner, or man – he is not a man –, in the sport we are in, can offend a woman? He insulted Joanna (Jedrzejczyk), Amanda (Nunes). He offended Dustin (Poirier). These people are not even in your category,” Jorge told 'ESPN'.

The athlete fired back at Colby when talking about the provocations made to a number of ATT's female fighters. According to Masvidal, Covington's promotions went beyond any acceptable limit within a coexistence.

"I understand. You're trying to create a character. But what does this have to do with a woman. A 52kg woman. or 61kg. Will you face them? Are you going to sell more pay-per-views because you're talking about Amanda and Joanna? Answer me this. Is this what will happen? It sets a bad example for our team and our sport,” she explained.

Based on Colby's personal knowledge, Masvidal, who was once one of 'Chaos' best friends, gave important details that, according to 'Jesus of the Streets', help to understand American Top Team's attitude in dismissing one of its biggest names current.

“He’s a fragile person, man. He is not mentally strong. I remember he used to cry on my couch all the time. When he broke his hand the first time, he lived on my couch for eight or nine months. He didn't have a job, he couldn't fight, he had a broken hand and he thought about retiring two or three times. Did he want to face me? He wasn't training anywhere. It’s just talk,” said Masvidal.

Without a gym and an Ultimate fight scheduled, Jorge then made a harsh prediction for the future of Covington's career. According to his former friend, Colby will not have a promising future in his MMA history.

“In his next fight, he will be knocked out and he will end up fighting in some event in India for a living. I'm sure he's finished. Life will get you out of there. I don't see him winning – somewhere at a high level. Maybe if they give him a guy who's just starting out. If they give him a high-level competitor, he won’t be able to handle it”, he concluded.
