Frankie should have made his debut in the new division in January of this year, when he had a contract signed to face Cory Sandhagen. The North American, however, accepted the challenge of replacing Brian ortega, injured, against 'Korean zombie', at UFC Busan, in December last year. Edgar ended up suffering a hard knockout and received a long medical suspension, postponing his plans to move down a category.

With the setback for his opponent, Pedro had his streak of three victories interrupted, one of them over the former division champion, cody garbrandt.

At 33 years old, the São Paulo native is close to making his 24th career appearance. The athlete today has 18 wins, four losses, one fight without result and is currently in 7th position in the bantamweight rankings.
