The Brazilians Mauricio Shogun e Lyoto Machida return to the Octagon on August 4th, on the main card of UFC on FOX 4. And, despite recent defeats, the fighters can guarantee the chance to win the chance to compete for the organization's light heavyweight belt at the event.
UFC president, Dana White, assured, in an interview with the North American channel FOX, that the next challenger in the light heavyweight division will emerge from this event, where Mauricio Shogun faces Brandon Vera in the main fight of the night and Lyoto Machida will measure forces against Ryan bader.
“These fighters have a great opportunity to show the world why they deserve to fight for the UFC title. And winning is not enough. This division is so competitive that they have to stand out to separate themselves from the pack,” said White.
The light heavyweight belt is held by Jon Jones, who will defend his reign in the category against the veteran Dan Henderson, at UFC 151, on September 1st.
