Initially, Sakai and Ivanov were supposed to exchange forces in the UFC 250, which would take place on May 9, in São Paulo. The coronavirus pandemic, however, caused the card to leave the capital of São Paulo and be transferred to North American territory.
Having debuted for Ultimate in September 2018, Augusto doesn't know what it's like to lose for the organization. To date, the fighter has had three fights, winning two by knockout and one by judge's decision. His last performance took place in September last year, when he hit Marcin tybura in less than a minute, in Vancouver.
While the Brazilian accumulates a sequence of triumphs in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg), Blagoy needs to win to erase the setback he suffered to Derrick Lewis in November last year, in UFC 244. At the time, the giants fought a balanced confrontation, but the North American ended up being declared the winner in the judges' decision.
If the Bulgarian wins, Sakai will continue his journey towards the top of the category. Currently, the Brazilian is in 13th place in the group, while Ivanov is in 11th.
