Dana rules out punishing Jones for prison and expects the athlete to fight once again in 2020

President of Ultimate minimizes incident involving light heavyweight champion in March and hopes that fighter will defend his title this year

UFC president Dana White ruled out any punishment for Jon Jones following the athlete's new arrest at the end of March, in Albuquerque (USA). Minimizing the incident involving the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), the 'big boss' stated that he intends to see the fighter in action once again in 2020.

“On my part, there will be no punishment,” White said.

Dana, however, stated that he did not speak to Jones after the controversial arrest of the fighter, who was detained by the police after being caught driving drunk and making negligent use of a firearm.

“We haven't talked yet, but I hope he fights at the end of this year” said the agent.

'Bones' performed in February this year, when he defended his belt again. On that occasion, the champion emerged victorious over Dominick reyes in a very controversial decision.

After the spectacle that marked the main fight of the UFC 247, a portion of the fans, specialized press and even White himself disagreed with the judges' result, claiming that Jon had been defeated in his calculations.
