Best athlete in the history of the UFC middleweight division (up to 83,9kg), Anderson Silva underwent knee surgery this Wednesday (6), in the United States. The athlete made a point of updating his fans about his health status and promised to return to the octagon soon to fulfill his contract with Ultimate.

“I finished surgery on my knee. Now it's time to recover. I'm fine and I wanted to thank all of you, who are my fans and support me. Soon, I will be 100% and I will fight my two fights in the UFC. I am going home. Thanks guys”, said 'Spider' on his Instagram account.
The procedure Anderson underwent involves using stem cells to increase the rehabilitation of an injured site. The Brazilian used the technique to treat a problem in his right knee. The athlete is expected to recover for three months.
At 45 years old, Anderson continues to affirm his desire to fulfill his contractual commitment with the UFC, making two more appearances and then possibly ending his career.
Last year, the Brazilian played on two occasions, being beaten on both occasions. In his last performance, the athlete ended up being surpassed by Jared Cannonier, in May, in UFC 237.
With almost 23 years of professional MMA career, Anderson is considered, by many, as the best athlete to have ever performed in the sport.
