After withdrawing from the card UFC 249, which takes place this Saturday (9), the Brazilian was scheduled to fight on June 6 against Felicia spencer in a fight valid for the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.). The location of the confrontation has not yet been defined. The information was released by 'ESPN' reporter, Ariel Helwani.

“The struggle between Amanda nunes e Felicia spencer valid for the lightweight title is officially moved to June 6, according to sources. The location remains undefined, as does the possibility of the confrontation representing the main fight on the card”, wrote Ariel on his Twitter account.

Initially, Amanda was scheduled to perform in the co-main fight of the UFC 250, which would take place on May 9, in São Paulo. After the official cancellation of the show, the Brazilian was considered to fight for the UFC 249, which was transferred to the date on which the São Paulo card would take place.

If the Bahian woman decided to remain on the card, the show would offer viewers three title fights at the same event. The ‘Leoe’, however, under the assertion that she was not having adequate preparation, due to training difficulties due to the pandemic and consequent social isolation, preferred to withdraw.

At the time, the athlete also stated that it would be necessary to wait for the global health crisis to become milder, given the number of deaths confirmed around the world due to the coronavirus (Covid-19).

If the UFC confirms Nunes' presence at the June show, this will be the Brazilian's first featherweight title defense.
