“I want my revenge against Kamaru Usman. There is no other fight to be had. We have unfinished business. The way the last fight ended, everyone knows I was winning. It was my fight until Marc Goddard (referee) took that stupid action of stopping, when I wasn't even close to being defeated. I still had 10 rounds left in me. I could go all day. I didn’t get tired,” Colby said.

Even though he made his desire to repeat the match against the current champion public, it is no secret to MMA enthusiasts that the Ultimate management has other plans for the new welterweight title fight. The organization plans to hold the confrontation between Usman and Jorge masvidal. The combatants have already started promoting the confrontation.

With no real chance for the title at the moment, Covington, therefore, has an ace up his sleeve. As he could not face the number one, 'Chaos' then opted to challenge the former champion.

“If I don’t get that fight (against Kamaru), then the only fight that makes sense is to end Kamaru’s career. Tyron woodley. You see him broke, begging to fight someone. He keeps saying, 'I'm going to fight three times in three weeks.' Dude, you're broke. You haven't even fought three times in four years. I think the UFC knows my position”, he concluded.

Without fighting since December, Covington currently occupies second place in the welterweight rankings. The 32-year-old athlete has 17 fights in his career, with 15 triumphs and two setbacks.
