Aiming for the top 5 lightweights, Do Bronx suggests fighting Donald Cerrone or Conor McGregor

Undefeated for seven fights, Charles of the Bronx He is definitely one of the fastest rising athletes in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). Aiming for a future title fight, the Brazilian spoke about the possibilities in the division for his next commitment.

"It seems that Dustin poirier (number two in the ranking) will fight against the 'skinny' Dan Hooker. So the only options left are Conor McGregor, Donald Cerrone e Paul felder. Since Cerrone was one of the last opponents I lost to, who knows. I've been asking for a fight against Conor McGregor for a while, but if that doesn't happen, we'll see”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Charles and 'Cowboy' faced each other in August 2011, when the São Paulo native was making his fifth appearance for the UFC. On that occasion, Do Bronx ended up defeated by knockout in the first round.

The São Paulo native's desire to face McGregor is not new. The athlete started to challenge the 'Notório' after his great victory over Jared gordon No. UFC Sao Paulo, in November last year. Still in the octagon, the Brazilian made the challenge. The request, however, was not heard by the company's management.

The challenge against Felder, despite the North American not appearing in the top 5 – like Cerrone – makes some sense, as the North American was responsible for confirming the last defeat in the São Paulo native's career, in 2017. Currently, Felder is in seventh place in the ranking, one ahead of Do Bronx.

If Charles' desire leans more towards 'Cowboy', the Brazilian will have to wait a while, as the North American has an appointment scheduled for the 9th, when he faces Anthony Pettis, UFC 249. The wait, however, may not be that long, as Cerrone is known for being one of the organization's most constant fighters.

Do Bronx last performed in March of this year, at UFC Brasilia. Assuming the leading role in the event, the combatant proved his great stage by defeating Kevin Lee in the main fight of the night.
