The former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg.), Fabricio Werdum, made an important statement about the possible May 9th card that should be held by Ultimate. The athlete confirmed that he will be present at the show that will mark the return of the company's activities, but revealed that he has no information about the exact location of his presentation.

“The date is when I was going to fight in Brazil, in UFC 250. I know there are many fighters wanting this date to cancel the UFC 249 and now everything is right again. They chose me and I was very happy. Even though I'm in the preliminary (fights), I don't care much about it. I would like to be on the main card, but just to be fighting after 2 years off because of the contamination I had and I couldn't prove otherwise, I want to fight”, said 'Vai Cavalo' in an interview with 'Combate'.
The exact location of the event remains unknown, even for the athletes who are expected to perform at the show. Since Ultimate took action to postpone events, the board has tried to keep its negotiations for future shows confidential.
“The location is undefined. I know it will be in Florida, but I don't talk to the UFC much. The speaker is Ali (Abdelaziz), my manager (businessman). I was happy to be on the card, it's very important, there's only 'fight'. I know that if it were in Brazil I would be on the main card, but the most important thing is to be fighting”, said Fabrício.
At 42 years old, Werdum, who was away from MMA after being caught in an anti-doping test in 2018, revealed that he has few fights left in his current contract with Ultimate. The athlete's idea, however, is to act as often as possible to make up for 'lost time'.
“I have two more fights in the UFC. I want to finish as soon as possible to lose the two years I've been idle. I want to fight more so I don't have to fight for five more years. I think I'll fight for another year or two, but we never really know”, he concluded.
If the card is made official by Ultimate, Fabrício will face the veteran alexey oleynik. The Brazilian is coming off a defeat Alexander Volkov and hopes for a good victory over the Russian to return to the heavyweight elite (up to 120,2kg).
