Responsible for trying to end the reign of Amanda nunes in the feather division (up to 65,7kg.), Felicia spencer did not hide her dissatisfaction after the champion announced that she would not participate in the possible card on May 9th. Without a replacement for the show, the American stated that she will continue training until the moment Ultimate decides to reschedule the fight.

“I was definitely disappointed, because when you have a fight scheduled, you work to be ready. In my head, I was getting ready to fight in three weeks. We were doing our best to get ready on our own. I was ready to fight and follow my path. It was disappointing that it was postponed”, said the American in an interview with 'BJPenn.com.'.
Even with her title challenge cancelled, Felicia understands that this is not the time to rest, since, when she faces Amanda, she will face what is already considered, by many, to be the best fighter of all time.
“It’s not to the point where I can relax. It's just a few more weeks, or a month. Maybe I'll be out for six weeks, seven weeks out. It’s not that far for me to relax,” she concluded.
Champion in two divisions in Ultimate, Nunes left the card stating that she was not adequately prepared for the fight, due to training limitations due to the coronavirus pandemic. The encounter against Spencer will be the Bahian's first title defense since she became featherweight champion in December 2018, when she knocked out Chris Cyborg.
