Without fighting for almost a year, Luke Rockhold appears to be rethinking the career break. Away from the octagon since his defeat to Jan Blachowicz, in July last year, the North American stated that he could resume his MMA career and even mentioned the names of possible opponents for his return.

“I have a lot of interesting choices. If Anderson (Silva) is still interested, and I think he is, maybe. Never know. (Chris) Weidman has a fight coming up soon. If he does well, you never know. These are options”, said the fighter, in an interview with 'MMA UK'.
Former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Rockhold was going through a complicated phase in his career, before announcing his break. The fighter had three defeats in his last five commitments, one of which even cost him the category belt in 2016, when he lost to Michael Bisping.
Luke, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, however, stated that the time off ended up being beneficial for his life. According to the athlete, after years of playing at a high level in the sport, he needed a rest.
“I just needed to get healthy. I have been giving myself to this sport for 15 years. It's good to take a break. Mentally it is a liberation. Focus on other things I can do”, said the North American.
At 35 years old, Rockhold has 21 appearances as a professional in MMA. The fighter has 16 wins and five losses since his debut in the sport in 2007.
