Fourth in the light heavyweight rankings (up to 93kg.), Jan Blachowicz got excited after being challenged by Jon Jones on a social network. The Pole responded positively after the champion suggested the athlete as the next challenger for the belt, rejecting a rematch with Dominick Reys.

“The meeting is scheduled. I can’t wait to get my hands on you,” Jan wrote.
So, it's a date. Can't wait to fist you. 👊 https://t.co/HhwCFKPa9X

'Bones didn't take long to respond to Blachowicz's comment. The athlete took the opportunity to mock the possible challenger's text and minimized the chance of defeat.
“Firstly, it will be a fight and not a meeting, and you will not punch anyone. You’re a strange guy, Jan,” Jones retorted.
first of all it would be a fight, not a date and you're not going to be fisting anyone. What a strange guy you are Jan https://t.co/GnvJr0m3aI

The champion's invitation was made after the American informed that he did not feel the need to promote a rematch against Dominick Reys. The athlete defeated his compatriot in February in a controversial victory by the judges' decision.
“I’m suddenly afraid of having a big fight? I'm sure I pressured him for 25 minutes when we fought. One thing about being world champion is that you have to look for fresh meat. I would like to pick some cherries in Poland. I haven’t tried that yet,” teased Jon.
There is still no prediction about when 'Bones' will defend his belt again. With Ultimate activities interrupted due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), negotiations for new fights have cooled down, as it is not known when the shows will take place again.
