One of the best athletes in the history of women's MMA, Chris Cyborg has not yet given up on a rematch against her compatriot, Amanda nunes. Defeated by the Bahian in December 2018, the Curitiba native suggested an event in common between the UFC and Bellator, her 'new home', for the show to happen.

"Amanda nunes is getting ready to defend her belt against an athlete who I defeated without contest in three rounds (Felicia spencer). After this fight, she can have a rematch against Valentina Shevchenko and then there are no more high-level rivals for her to face. Who will she fight after this?” said Cyborg in an interview with 'LowKickMMA'.
UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg.) between 2017 and 2018, Cyborg also suggested the scenario for the repeat of the clash between her and Amanda to take place since, now, the former champion puts on Bellator gloves.
“If Dana White (Ultimate president) is interested in making the biggest fights for the fans, fights that everyone wants to see and would pay for, I see no reason why we wouldn't do a “cross-promotion”. Boxing does this all the time for its fans”, said the Curitiba native.
After not having her UFC contract renewed and moving to Bellator, Cyborg signed the contract and received from the organization's president, Scott Coker, the promise that she would be valued, performing more frequently and, consequently, receiving more challenges. This way, the company could accept an event that featured a union between two of the biggest MMA companies in the world.
“Scott Coker has already sent Bellator fighters to face athletes from Rizin, in Japan. We are open to this type of dispute. I just defeated julia budd, who was undefeated for eight years at featherweight. Bellator has world boxing champion Arlene Blencowe and the last fighter to defeat Amanda nunes, Zingano cat, hired in prison. Leah McCourt, Leslie Smith and Olga Ruben are still with us, who are fights that can be made, as well as many other world-ranked athletes”, informed Cris.
Since defeating Cyborg, Amanda has never defended her new belt. Currently, the Bahian woman suffers, just as her compatriot suffered, with the lack of athletes who can be put to the test against the champion.
