Former UFC champion and one of the best athletes in MMA history, Chris Cyborg criticized Ultimate President Dana White's attempts to promote fights during the pandemic. The Curitiba native gave her opinion on holding events during one of the biggest health crises in history and was in favor of social isolation.

“Everyone has to quarantine. The rule is for everyone. You know a lot of people who don't want to stay at home. A lot of people are struggling right now. I think he (Dana) should do something other than think about himself, boxing and MMA fights. I think it's better to wait, like everyone is doing, and respect it”, said Cris, in an interview with the 'No Sports Report' podcast.

Cyborg and White had a turbulent relationship during the Brazilian's time in the UFC (2016-1019). Little used by the organization, the athlete left the company in July last year, after having the last fight under her contract. With difficulties in renewing, the athlete and the 'boss' even exchanged barbs in the press until the Curitiba native decided to work for another company.

Cris' criticism of White, this time, is not related to contracts, numbers or belts. The Brazilian makes a point of emphasizing the dangers encountered when athletes, during quarantine, are placed in contact with other fighters, teams and even Ultimate members.

“(To fight) I have to gather my team. Let's be together, train and then put the risk of family around you. I think you need to wait and have respect for the process. Be patient”, he concluded.

Currently, Cyborg works for Bellator and, in her first fight, held in December last year, she won the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg), which belonged to the Canadian julia budd.
