Drama in MMA. Bellator representative, fighter Isaiah Chapman was shot dead last Tuesday (7), in the city of Akron, Ohio, in the United States. The information was released on the organization's social networks.
“Bellator regrets the news of the death of Isaiah Chapman. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time,” the company’s administrators wrote.
According to 'MMA Junkie', local police officers responded to a nighttime call reporting gunshots. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Isaia shot. The athlete was taken to hospital, but was later declared dead. The motives for the crime are being investigated.
At age 30, Chapman had 13 fights as a professional in mixed martial arts. The fighter, who had worked in organizations such as WSOF (World Series of Fighting), Honor FC, NAAFS (North American Allied Fight Series), debuted in Bellator in October last year.
In his debut for the new organization, the athlete, who had three consecutive victories, ended up defeated by Patrick Mix, in one of the fights of Bellator 232.
In his professional record, Isaiah had nine victories and four setbacks.
Chapman leaves behind three children.
