The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) announced, this Monday (23), the two-year suspension of Lucas Penchel, a doctor accused of carrying out intravenous infusions above the limit allowed for Paulo borrachinha, in 2017. The information was confirmed through a statement released by 'MMA Fighting'.

According to the Anti-Doping Agency, the professional's procedures carried out in Borrachinha took place in the period preceding UFC 212, which took place in June 2017. On that occasion, the Brazilian faced and defeated the American Oluwale Bamgbose.
The same procedure would have happened in November of the same year, when Paulo was preparing for the confrontation against Johny Hendrix, at UFC 217.

With the punishment by the United States Anti-Doping Agency, Dr. Lucas will have to spend two years without working with athletes involved in MMA. Therefore, the professional will only be able to resume his activities in mixed martial arts from March 2022.
