UFC Fight Night confirmed to compete with Affliction

The rumors that the UFC would throw an event in a hurry to compete with Affliction's debut card were confirmed. The show's management announced that it will hold an edition of UFC Fight Night on July 19th.

On the card, the Brazilian Anderson Silva, the organization's middleweight champion will make his light heavyweight division debut against James Irvin. Anderson will not vacate his belt, and is expected to defend his title by the end of the year.

Other attractions are the fights between Brandon Vera and Reese Andy and the return of black belt Hermes França, after serving a suspension for doping, against Frank Edgar.
