If one word could define the work of UFC president Dana White during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it would be optimism. The franchise boss, who was reluctant to cancel the next three events, guarantees that Ultimate will return to its normal workload in UFC 249, April 18th.

In a chat with the welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, Dana guaranteed that the UFC will return to normal activities before any other sport. To this end, the director intends to use the UFC Apex, a venue owned by Ultimate where he holds editions of the Contender Series, to host the shows without the presence of an audience.
“Here's the reality: 'We're going to be back up and running before any other sport. Our sport is different. We have our own arena next door (the UFC Apex). So we're going to fulfill all the fights for all the fighters this year, and we're going to do our job'”, - guaranteed White.
The UFC president, however, does not mention possible bans from the Nevada Athletic Commission, the entity that sanctions events in Las Vegas, where the UFC Apex is located. However, the leader prefers to attack critics of his stance of not respecting the quarantine.
The media can talk as much shit as they want. They don't feed families. They don't take care of people. They don't have people who count on them. They don't have people to support. We're doing the right thing as far as medical exams and all that. That's what we always do. It’s nothing new”, said Dana before continuing.
“We’ve been doing this s*** long before the coronavirus. We're taking care of people and making sure everyone is healthy, and every fighter that's with me on this road gets much better medical attention than when they're at home – when they're with me. I told our entire cast: if you and your loved ones are in any situation or anything is wrong, call me. I will do everything in my power to make sure we take care of this,” concluded White.
