Back in the middleweight division (up to 83,9kg.) after trying himself in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg.), Ronaldo Jacare is preparing to restart his journey towards the top of the category that he himself has haunted for some time. Removed from the official rankings after the decision to play in the top category, the athlete confirms that his return is a fresh start and that his dream of a title fight is still a long way off. In an interview with 'Combate', the man from Espírito Santo, who has a fight scheduled for April 18, spoke about the subject.

“I need a lot of things to fight for the belt. That is the truth. I have to win this fight, which is a step. It's just one step. Right now, the truth is that I don't deserve it, I have to win this fight. And only after that I think about the next fight”, said the Brazilian.

If the event is not postponed, due to the coronavirus, Jacaré will be committed to exchanging forces against the dangerous Uriah Hall, currently number 10 in the middleweight rankings. Regarding his new rival, the Espírito Santo, despite showing respect, admitted that he envisions a good victory, to return to the company's spotlight.

“It’s a clash of styles. He's a very difficult guy to fight, he has very fast strikes. I need to put the strategy into practice, I'm training everything. I'm going to go there, have a good fight and I'm going to win. I'm thinking about putting on a good fight and winning,” said Ronaldo.

Jacaré has three defeats in his last five appearances. His last performance took place in November last year, when he faced Jan Blachowicz in the main fight of UFC Sao Paulo. On that occasion, the Brazilian ended up defeated in a split decision by the judges.
