Charles of the Bronx has claimed another victim! The black belt did not disappoint, starring in the main fight of the UFC Brasilia, event held this Saturday (14), in the federal capital. In the confrontation against Kevin Lee, the Brazilian took risks in striking, but it was in jiu-jitsu that he found triumph over the North American. In the third round, the São Paulo native landed a guillotine choke and forced his opponent to tap out.

Charles's finish was the 14th in the São Paulo native's career, expanding the record within the franchise. After the confrontation, Do Bronx asked to face the winner of 'Khabib x Ferguson', who will duel for the lightweight belt next month.
After the new positive result, Charles stated that he will be present at the UFC 249, which takes place on April 18th, when Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.) against Tony Ferguson. The victory over Lee should give the São Paulo native a jump in the group's ranking. Before this weekend's appointment, Do Bronx was in 13th place in the category, while Kevin was in eighth place.
The fight
The fight began with Do Bronx putting pressure on Lee with a sequence of kicks and punches. Kevin responded with a direct shot, which stopped in the Brazilian's guard. The North American began to loosen up in his striking and pose danger against the São Paulo native. Realizing the disadvantage, Charles looked for the takedown, but ended up falling on the bottom. Do Bronx tried a heel hook, but Kevin defended well. Even from below, the Brazilian was in more danger trying to finish. Kevin managed to protect himself, but the São Paulo native remained dangerous in his actions. In the final seconds, Lee managed to get up and threw a good sequence of punches to Charles' face, who defended himself until the timer reached zero.
In the second stage, Do Bronx returned, taking the initiative with a round punch followed by a kick. The blow stopped in the American's guard, who responded with a jab and a straight shot. The athletes bet on fighting on their feet and the fight remained tense. Charles seemed at ease and continued to land the best blows. The American started swinging and Charles continued to put pressure on his opponent. After two minutes, the São Paulo native risked a knee to the waistline, but ended up being caught by his rival and taken down. On the ground, the Brazilian was biding his time and trying to hold on to Lee to stop his opponent's actions. The fight continued to be fought on the ground until time ran out.
The third round started with Kevin more aggressive. The American connected with a straight shot and a high kick, but missed when attempting a takedown, leaving his neck exposed. Charles took advantage of the moment and landed a guillotine choke on his rival, who gave up.
