With the injury of Fabricio Werdum, Super Challenge management soon found a suitable replacement for the event, Leonardo Chocolate, from RFT.
“We were waiting until the last moment for an invitation to this event”, commented Marcio Cromado, team leader, “Chocolate had already been training and was waiting a lot for this chance, which came 45 minutes into the second half. He is well trained and will represent the RFT very well. We are all very happy with this news, which comes to crown the great year we had.”
Chocolate will face in the first fight Delson Pé de Chumbo. By coincidence, promoter Paulo Vasconcellos' desire to marry fights where there would be rematches ended up working out for this new confrontation. The fighters have already faced each other twice, with one victory each.
Cromado also commented on the characteristics of his student and how he will face the different rules of Super Challenge Grappling, which give more value to submission attempts.
“Chocolate is not a finisher, he plays more to score”, he explained, “But we don't see any problems with these rules. We have already drawn up the strategy and he is taking on this challenge with a lot of energy and heart. After the first fight, Chocolate will go to the final.”
