The Brazilian Anderson Silva, UFC middleweight champion, and the North American Jon Jones, owner of the light heavyweight belt, are the MMA representatives at the ESPY Awards, an award promoted by North American ESPN, in the best fighter category.

Anderson and Jones compete for the award alongside two boxers: Floyd Mayweather Jr. and André Ward. Internet users will be able to choose their favorites until July 9th, when voting ends. The winners will be announced on July 11th, at a party promoted by the North American broadcaster.

In six years of competition, an MMA athlete has never won the award. Among the representatives of the octagon sport who were nominated are, in addition to himself, Jon Jones in 2011, Georges St Pierre, Lyoto Machida, Quinton'Rampage' Jackson and Randy Couture.
