The controversy surrounding the victory of Deiveson Figueiredo No. UFC Norfolk, which took place this Saturday (29), in the United States is far from having an end. Unable to assume the position of flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), due to having failed to make the weight cut last Friday (28), after defeating Joseph Benavidez With an imposing victory, the athlete demands a new opportunity from the organization to fight for the belt. Accompanied by his manager, Wallid Ismail, who translated the Pará native's speech, the athlete, in an interview with 'ESPN MMA' after the show, spoke about the situation.

"I'm the champion. I won the fight. I just don't have the belt, but I won the title fight. Who’s going to tell me I’m not the champion?” asked Wallid, translating his pupil’s speech.
The businessman took the opportunity to ask the organization for a new date so that the athlete can return to compete for the title, this time, officially, suggesting that the problem experienced last Friday will not repeat itself.
“Now I want to know when the UFC will make me fight for my belt. Because now I want to hold the belt. He is mine. I defeated everyone. The question is: 'UFC, when will I have the chance to fight for my belt?”, concluded the businessman.
Figueiredo's triumph over Joseph meant that the flyweight division remained without a champion. The category does not have a representative at the top since Henry Cejudo he was dethroned when he chose to act only among bantamweights (up to 61,2kg), where he holds the number one position.
