After the frustrated experience of testing himself in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), in October last year, Chris Weidman is close to having its next appointment confirmed. After announcing his return to middleweight (up to 83,9kg), the former division champion has a verbal agreement to face Jack hermansson in one of the UFC Oklahoma City fights, which takes place on May 2. The information was released by 'ESPN'.

If the duel is confirmed, Weidman will return to the octagon with the intention of avoiding the worst phase of his career since he debuted as a professional in MMA. Famous for putting an end to the reign of Anderson Silva, the North American hasn't won a fight in over two years and has suffered five defeats in his last six appearances.
Hermansson, who was close to a fight for the division's belt, ended up having his dream postponed after his defeat to Jared Cannonier in the main fight of UFC Copenhagen, held in Denmark, in September last year. The setback interrupted a sequence of four victories for the Swede, who had defeated Ronaldo Jacare in his last performance.
At 35 years old, Chris now has 19 professional appearances in mixed martial arts. The North American has 14 wins and five losses on his record. Unranked after fighting in the top division, the North American seeks to regain his place among the category's elite.
Younger in age but more experienced in the sport, Jack, 31, has 25 commitments in the sport. The Swede, who is known for his knockout power, has 20 assets and five setbacks. The Swede occupies 7th place in the middleweight rankings.
