“If that’s not the most frustrating sh*t for me, I don’t know what else is. How is this not a conflict of interest? Training with someone for over 10 years and receiving a black belt from my opponent’s coach,” said Krause referring to Joe.

The situation involving Soliz was reported by the Canadian broadcaster 'TSN'. According to the press outlet, the judge has a close relationship with Trevin's gym, which could have directly influenced his analysis of the fight, which was fought very evenly over three rounds.

James, who stepped into the Octagon to replace the Brazilian Antonio Arroyo, who felt ill after gaining weight on Friday (7), continued explaining his indignation and stated that the problem, in itself, is not the setback.

“I’m not nervous about losing the fight. It was very similar. The first round went to me, the second went to him (Trevin). The third was the last. I won round three, according to two judges, but one scored the first round for him (Giles). (In the first round), after taking him (Giles) down and having almost four minutes of control over things I still almost got the submission,” he said.

Finally, Krause suggested that there be changes so that cases like this do not happen again within Ultimate or any other MMA organization.

“This sport has been around for too long for it not to change. I know the Texas Athletic Commission won't do anything about my fight. They never do, but I hope the UFC, Dana White and the state commissions can make the choices for our sport. This is a disgrace for our sport. It’s not just my fight, but a sequence of incompetence”, he concluded.

In addition to the Krause fight, Joe was also the subject of a controversy involving the main fight of the UFC 247, when Jon Jones retained his title against Dominick reyes. On that occasion, the judge scored four rounds to one for 'Bones', in a confrontation in which the challenger was dominant in at least two rounds.

If this isn't the most frustrating shit for me in the world I don't know what… how is this not a conflict of interest? Training at someone's gym for 10+ years and receiving a black belt from the coach corner of my opponent. I no way am I mad I lost the fight, it was close. 1 was mine, 2 was his, and 3 was a toss up. But round 3 was given to me on 2/3 cards. It was round 1 they scored for him. After a take down and almost 4 minutes of back control, not to mention almost finishing the RNC, I don't know how they would give that round to him. This sport has been around for too long to not start making changes. I know the Texas State Athletic Commission won't do a damn thing about my fight. They never do but I hope the @ufc, @danawhite, and the state commissions can come together to actually make the judgment for OUR sport, not boxing and hold the people doing these jobs accountable. This is a disgrace to our sport. Not just my fight but multiple examples of incompetence from the same judge. So frustrated to even read this shit… and remember I lost half my purse because of this guy.
